The objective should be to make available all modern facilities to the visitors in order to make their stay comfortable and enjoyable.
“They should not only feel the change for good but also boast about the place”, he said and highlighted the crucial role of various line departments and dedication of executing agencies. He called for innovative measures to make the lake attractive by evolving a mechanism about boat rides and swimming competitions.

He said these facilities will go a long way in organizing various events and high profile conferences at the picturesque place. “Jammu really missed such attractions in the past”, he added.
Rana said Surinsar has potential of growing a tourist destination of pride, provided sincere efforts are made in this regard. The place is not only to be developed but an all-out campaign has to be launched to put it on the tourism map of Jammu, which has unique privilege in North India to attract over ten million Mata Vaishno Devi bound pilgrims annually.
As part of his own initiative as MLA of the Constituency, Rana referred to the kite-festival in Surinsar and off-ride motor-race in Athen, which emerged as big events and attracted large crowds. “These successful events firmed up my resolve to seek a befitting place for Nagrota Constituency in tourism sector”, he maintained.
Prominent citizens of five Panchayats, Athen, Chilla, Sagoon, Surinsar and Pounthal highlighted the problems of their areas and spoke about various utility services. Rana discussed these with the officers and sought immediate redressal. He also hoped that various projects and schemes, currently in execution and implementation, will be expedited on war-footing.
