Rana accuses Govt of avoiding discussion on Article 370

JAMMU, Mar 26: As National Conference MLA Devender Singh Rana accused the treasury benches of avoiding a discussion on Article 370, the Legislative Assembly today witnessed a verbal dual between him and the Minister for Horticulture, Haj & Auqaf A R Veeri.
The issue was raised by Mr Rana during discussion on demand of grants for Agriculture and Horticulture when he alleged that his Private Member resolution for strengthening Article 370 and restoration of the same in its original form, was intentionally rejected by the Government. The NC MLA accused the treasury benches of rejecting those resolutions, which do not suit them.
The charge was countered by A R Veeri who alleged that the NC MLA was trying to create un-necessary controversy over rejection of the resolution as everyone was aware of the draw of lots for selection of Private member resolution for discussion in the House.
Meanwhile, the CPI (M) Legislator Mohd Yusuf Tarigami also stood from his seat and complained that a similar resolution by him was also rejected.  He suggested that the Government should accept a notice for discussion on the issue of Article 370.
Mr Rana also continued by claiming that there was no politics on Article 370, which is a Constitutional guarantee and he just wanted a discussion on the same so that every party may give its view  point on the issue. “Preserving 370 is responsibility of everyone and this is also in welfare of India,” he remarked in Dogri.
