UDHAMPUR, Dec 10:  Alleging total neglect and deprivation of the remote and far flung areas of Ramnagar constituency,  former minister and NPP chairman   Harsh Dev Singh  today charged the incumbent Govt for ignoring the said constituency in the matter of development.
Addressing several public meetings in Ramnagar area today. Harsh Dev  said that  while development schemes were being announced on papers, the corresponding delivery on the ground was conspicuously missing. He said that with development works in the rural areas having come to a grinding halt during the last few years, the Ramnagar constituency provided the most glaring example of development inertia in the present dispensation.
Making a mention of the massive Rs 80,000 crore package of Prime Minister announced in 2015 for the infrastructure development of the State, Singh regretted the total neglect of Ramnagar constituency under the said package with not a single project having been sanctioned in the said constituency under the package. He regretted that the aforesaid package having been subsequently enhanced by Rs 20,000 crore and raised to Rs 1 lakh crore, the rural and remote sub regions like Ramnagar constituency continued to be ignored and deprived under the same.
Seeking a review of the components of the package so as to include the bad pocket and under developed areas, Singh sought adequate funds for infrastructure development of Ramnagar including double lining of roads, augmentation of power infrastructure besides launch of power projects in view of tremendous hydro power potential in the area.
Drawing the attention of the authorities towards the pathetic condition of roads particularly in Kulwanta and Parly Dhar blocks, Singh called for immediate repairs and renovation of all such R&B and PMGSY roads without further delay. He expressed concern over the reports of people collecting many and getting the roads repaired privately at their own expense and sought a probe into the utilization of maintenance grants released every year for such roads. He sought early macadamization of Kulwanta – Ladana road, Daler – Amroh road and Sunetar – Dhanwalat road which had been approved in 2013 under phase-X of PMGSY.
