Ram Madhav to visit today

JAMMU, Mar 17: Ahead of Lok Sabha by-polls on two seats in Kashmir valley and election to six seats of Legislative Council falling on April 17, BJP national general secretary and senior leader Ram Madhav will visit here tomorrow to hold deliberations with the party leadership.
Madhav, who is also in-charge J&K Affairs of the party, will meet the BJP leaders from the State and discuss poll strategy besides political scenario of the State in detail, party sources here said. Madhav will arrive here tomorrow morning and will chair meetings of BJP Ministers, MLAs and cadre, sources added.
Sources said that besides discussing the prevailing political situation in the State and Party’s strategy for the by elections of two seats of Lok Sabha in Kashmir valley, Madhav will also discuss the names of party candidates to be fielded for Legislative Council the  elections of which are to be held on April 17.
Sources said the lobbying has already started in the party for the Legislative Council elections and Madhav will ascertain the views of senior party leaders on probable candidates of the party for the same.
BJP Prabhari for J&K and national vice president of the party Avinash Rai Khanna is already in the State. He was in Kashmir valley on two-days visit and he arrived here from Srinagar this afternoon.
After conducting meeting of senior Party functionaries here, Khanna left for Udhampur in the evening to convene a party meeting there tomorrow, sources said. He will return here tomorrow in the afternoon and will brief Madhav about BJP’s political base in the Valley following which decision on fielding candidates can be taken.
Khanna yesterday said that view of the party workers on the by-polls has been taken and will be discussed within team. He had said that it would then be conveyed to the central leadership on whether the Jammu and Kashmir unit wants to contest the polls or not.
“Madhav will hold threadbare discussions with the party cadre for finalizing decision of contesting polls or not,” sources said  adding he will also discuss the names of probable LC candidates of the party with them.
