SAMBA, Dec 16: Police Party of PP Rajpura today during early morning hours, foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued six bovines.
As per reports a Police Party of PP Rajpura headed by SI Surinder Singh Nagra, incharge Police Post Rajpura under close supervision of Deepak Digra, Dy.SP Hqrs Samba, during vehicle checking at Naka Rajpura intercepted one Mahindra Load Carrier Vehicle bearing Regd. No. JK02BJ-5398 carrying six bovines which were being illegally transported without any permission.
The vehicle and the bovine animals were seized on the spot. In this regard a case FIR No. 105/2017 U/S 188/RPC, 2/3 PCA Act has been registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation started. Efforts are being made to nab the absconding accused driver, a handout issued by police said.
It said the drive against the bovine smuggling in the district has been launched by District Police Samba led by SSP, Samba, Anil Magotra.
