Rajnath to gather saints view on Modi’s name at Kumbh

KUMBH NAGAR,
ALLAHABAD, Feb 3:
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Rajnath Singh is expected to attend the meet of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on February 7 at the Maha Kumbh mela and gather feedback of the saints on the candidature of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for the coveted post of Prime Minister.
“The newly inducted BJP president has confirmed his arrival at the VHP’s meet at Maha Kumbh mela,” VHP sources confirmed today.
Mr Singh will interact with some prominent saints and might likely have their view over the candidature of Mr Modi as the Prime Ministerial candidate.
Crucial decision related to Ram temple campaign can also be taken in the ongoing Kumbh, which has earlier too remained a venue for such important talks, the VHP asserted. Dates for much-awaited Ram temple construction might likely be decided in this meeting.
The saffron party has called a two-days meet on February 6-7.
The decision for laying the foundation stone for the Ram temple at Ayodhya was taken at Kumbh mela in 1989, besides decision related to its ‘Shila Pujan’ was also taken in this religious congregation earlier.
An agreement on ‘Kar Seva’ in Ayodhya on December 6, 1992 was also taken at Kumbh.
Mohan Bhagwat of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), the ideological mentor of the BJP, has also confirmed his arrival in the scheduled meeting. Gujarat CM Narendra Modi has also been invited, but his visit was yet not confirmed.
Earlier on November 26 last, Sri Ramjanmabhoomi Nyas Chief Mahant Nritya Gopal Das in a saints’ meet at Ayodhya had hinted that the dates of Ram temple construction might likely be decided in the Maha Kumbh mela.
VHP leader Ashok Singhal had also stressed upon the need for a Hindu Parliament in that meeting.
VHP’s meeting also gains importance in view of the coming Lok Sabha elections.
A Ram temple model has been prepared in the ongoing Maha Kumbh. A large number of devotees are viewing this model and paying their obeisance. (UNI)
