Rajnath Singh takes stock of situation in Kashmir

NEW DELHI, Oct 24: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today spoke to DG Border Security Force (BSF) K K Sharma, who apprised him of current situation in Kashmir after the cease fire violation last night which killed one BSF jawan.

After the incident on October 21 in which seven Pakistani rangers and one terrorist were killed in cross-firing at Indo-Pak border, Mr Singh has been continuously monitoring the situation in the Valley.

He also saluted BSF Jawan Sushil Kumar (head constable) who sacrificed his life in RS Pura sector of Jammu region. Mr Singh said BSF was capable of giving a befitting reply to the infiltrators and Pakistani forces.

Sushil Kumar who got splinter injury in the upper part of his chest while retaliating to Pakistan Rangers’ cease-fire violation, passed away late on Sunday night.  (UNI)
