JAMMU, Feb 8: Clocking a timing of 1.56.22 seconds, ace athlete Rajesh Padha claimed 3rd place in the above 55 category of 8th Edition of Jaipur Marathon held recently.
Amar Singh Ghuru won first place by clocking 1.45:59 seconds, while Sham Sunder Chohan bagged 3rd spot by clocking a timing of 1.49:08 seconds.
Around 6000 athletes participated in this Marathon which included the events in 5, 6, 21 and 42 kilometers.
Five athletes from Jammu participated in the event and they included Pritam Kumar in below 35 kms, Dilawar in below 45 kms, Sanjay Saini, Sham Suri and Rajesh Padha in below 55 kms.
3845 athletes from all over the Country completed the half Marathon.
It is pertinent to mention here that it was Padha’s 18th medal in a row. He has the distinction of completing 3 police half marathons, 1 Pune half marathon, 1 Ladakh half marathon, besides claiming silver medal in National Masters Athletic Championship (10 kms) and 4 standard charted Mumbai Marathon.
Another Jammuite, Sham Suri, Jeweller by profession also completed this Marathon.
