JAMMU, Apr 1: In order to review security arrangements in connection with the visit of Vice President of India to Jammu tomorrow, a high level meeting was chaired by Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar  at Police Headquarters (PHQ) here today.
Mr. Rajendra directed the officers  for ensuring implementation of joint mechanism chalked out with other security agencies to make the visit successful. He said that while putting in place the security arrangements, coordination with university authorities and other concerned agencies should be ensured.
During the meeting, officers briefed the DGP about the security and deployment plan put in place during the visit of VVIP to Jammu University. They said that in consultation with other security agencies and concerned departments, arrangements have been finalized and deployment plan has been chalked out to maintain security, law and order around the venue and the routes. It was informed that sufficient manpower has been deployed on the entry gates and around the venue along with security gadgets.
Mr. Rajendra stressed for greater synergy among different agencies and forces being deployed for the security of VVIP. He asked to utilize the security gadgets including CCTV Cameras en-route the visit and the venues. He said that a comprehensive communication network would be established to coordinate among the agencies involved in the security of the VVIP.
Traffic arrangements were also discussed and it was decided that proper parking of vehicles inside the venue of convocation at the already identified slots would be ensured. DGP directed for sanitization of parking slots and smooth regulation of traffic in the city so that common people do not face any inconvenience  due to security arrangements.
Mr. Rajendra stressed upon the officers to share inputs regarding the activities of suspicious elements and ensure required preventive measures to foil any ill designs of such elements. He also asked for high alertness in the border areas to curb any undesired activity by the miscreants
Among others the meeting was attended by DG (Coordination), SK Mishra, ADGP (Security), Dilbag Singh and ADGP Armed, L Mohanti, IGPs, AG Mir, Jagjit Kumar and  Danish Rana, DIG Traffic, Viplav Kumar and DIG, Jammu Range, Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, AIG (Personnel), Tahir Sajjad, SSP, Jammu, Sunil Gupta, SSP Security Jammu, Romesh Angral and SSP Rajbawan, Ajit Lal Dogra.
