Rajbagh Police rescues 11 bovine animals; seizes 102 pouches of liquor

KATHUA, Feb 18: In continuation to drive launched by the district Police Kathua to nab the bovine smugglers, a Police party of Police Station Rajbagh headed by SHO, PS Rajbagh, Sanjeev Chib under the supervision of SDPO Border, Ravail Singh, Additional SP Kathua, Khalil Ahmed and under overall supervision of Pawan Parihar, SSP Kathua, laid down a naka at NHW Rajbagh and intercepted one truck bearing registration No. JK21C-7214 loaded with bovine animals. The truck was on way from Punjab towards Jammu.
On noticing the naka party, driver of the vehicle managed to escape leaving behind the vehicle taking the advantage of darkness. During checking of the vehicle, Police rescued 11 bovine animals which were being transported from Punjab towards J&K State illegally. Police has launched a man hunt to nab the accused persons and in this regard a case FIR No. 25/2017 u/s 279, 188 RPC, 3PC Act stands registered at P/S Rajbagh against the accused. Investigation of the case is set into motion.
Meanwhile police party of PS Rajbagh headed by SHO PS Rajbagh, Sanjeev Chib under the supervision of SDPO Border, Ravail Singh, Addl. SP Kathua, Khalil Ahmed Poswal and overall supervision of Pawan Parihar, SSP Kathua seized 102 pouches of Indian made liquor from two bootleggers who were also arrested by the Police.
According to police acting on a specific information it laid naka near Old Police Station Rajbagh at about 2200 hrs late last night. The police nabbed two bootlegger namely Sukhwinder Singh S/o Sohan Singh and Naveen Mehra S/o Joginder Pal both resident of Dhollian Jatta, Rajbagh carrying 102 pouches of Indian made liquor (Frooties). The duo was travelling on a motorcycle without number.
The Rajbagh Police has registered a case FIR No. 24/2017 u/s 279 RPC 48(a) Excise Act, 185 MV Act against them and started further investigation.
