KATHUA, Jan 28: The resident of Rajbagh in Kathua blocked the Jammu-Pathankote National Highway and held protest demonstration against the power crises .
The resident of Rajbagh including the women sat on protest dharna in middle of National Highway and raised the slogan against the Power Department. The protesters Amrik Singh and Satnam Singh alleged that the transformer of the Rajbagh is out of order from few days and people are living in dark.
They alleged that despite the repeated requests made to district administration and Power Development Department no action was taken and ultimately people were forced to come on the road and block the Highway.
DSP Border Ravel Choudhary reached on the spot to pacify them He approached Power Development Department to restore the power supply at the earliest. The people lifted the dharna after the assurance to restore the electricity to area.
