Raja Warriors, Reasi Club register berth in next stage

7th Eid-Diwali Milan Cricket Cup

JAMMU, Nov 14: Raja Warriors and Reasi Cricket Club emerged winners and registered berth in the next stage of the league round of the ongoing 7th Eid Diwali Milan Cricket Club, which is being organized by Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu in collaboration with Simula Cricket Club, KC Sports Club and Vishal Cricket Club at Parade Ground, here today.
In the first match, Raja Warriors defeated Sai Cricket Club on average basis as the match was stopped by the organizers due to rain after the completion of six overs because the target was already given to the batting team to complete in 6 overs.
Batting first Sai Cricket Club scored 101 runs for all wickets in 19.1 overs. Karan scored 25 runs, Ishan made 17 runs and Ajay made 13 runs.
From bowling side, Raja and Harry took 3 wickets each, while Akash scalped 2 wickets and Amir and Deepak shared 1 wicket apiece.
The target of 32 runs in six overs given to the Raja Warriors which they completed in 4 overs without losing any wicket thus won the match by 10 wickets.
In another match, Reasi Cricket Club outplayed WCC Kashmir by 6 wickets.
Batting first, KCCC scored 125 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Yawar chipped in 35 runs, while Vikas scored 26 runs and Billu made 12 runs.
For WCC Kashmir, Ankush took 4 wickets, while Ramneet and Anjuman scalped 1 wicket each.
In reply, Reasi Cricket Club chased the target in 14 overs by losing 4 wickets thus won the match by 6 wickets. Anil scored 51 runs, while Pankaj made 32 runs and Ramneet chipped in 24 runs.
From bowling side, Farooq took 2 wickets, while Shoaib and Deepu scalped 1 wicket each.
Anil was adjudged as Man of the Match for his batting performance.
The matches were officiated by Ashok Kumar, Sanju and Vijay.
In today’s matches, Vidhya Bhaskar, former Ranji players was the chief guest, who interacted with the participating players and boost their morale.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Star XI will take on Sparton Cricket Club, while Evershine Cricket Club will lock horns with Samar Cricket Club.
