NEW DELHI: The railways today notified a first of its kind charter for its employees guaranteeing time-bound redressal of their grievances, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said here.

The charter or guidelines will be followed by a similar document for passengers using the rail services, the Minister said while announcing a slew of measures that his Ministry has taken in the last three weeks to streamline the working of the national transporter.

“Through this charter we will address their concerns in a time-bound manner be it dues, entitlements, and in the next month or month and a half we will issue a similar charter for rail users or passengers. This charter will be binding on all of us for improving the services for our rail consumers,” said Goyal.

The Minister also announced formation of committees to look into restructiruing of railway administration and suggest measures for making safety improvements in work sites.

The charter states that rederssal of grievances should be within 30 working days of the receipt of their application.

The application for casual leaves will be disposed of within one working day while for all other leaves a time period of seven days has been set. (AGENCIES)
