Railway Stations to get upgraded security grid: IGP

JAMMU, Apr 8: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Railways, Rajesh Kumar, today said security grid across all the railway stations would be reinforced with sophisticated technical gadgets like CCTV cameras, night vision devices and other access control gadgets.
The IGP said this while chairing a meeting in the office of SSP GRP Jammu which was attended by SSP GRP Jammu, Additional SP GRP Jammu, SO to IGP Railways J&K, SDPO GRP Jammu, Dy SP GRP Lines Jammu and SHOs of P/S GRP Jammu and GRP Kathua.
During the meeting, IGP got the feedback from the officers about the working of GRP Jammu and issued directions regarding providing fool proof security to Railways Stations, Railway tracks, Railway tunnels, Railway bridges and other Railway establishments. He also took stock of present security system put in place at Railway station Jammu. He also directed the officers to remain extra vigilant during the upcoming Shri Amar Nath Ji Yatra and ensure that maximum possible efforts are made for security of yatries and tourists during their visit to the State.
Meanwhile the IGP Railways also visited GRP Lines Jammu and conducted Durbar of Jawans and officers.
During the Durbar, the officials projected their personal and professional grievances to which IGP assured that their problems would be redressed on priority and every possible step would be taken for the welfare and safety of security personnel.
