Qamran, Jiyaad, Samad, Taizeem shine in J&K’s big win over Odisha

JAMMU, Oct 15: Sparkling century by Qamran Iqbal, superb 72 by Jiyaad Nazir Magray, brilliant 5-wicket haul by Abdul Samad and 4 important wickets by Taiseem Younis Tak guided Jammu and Kashmir to a big win by 85 runs in Vinoo Mankad Trophy at Jaipur, today.
Batting first, J&K scored a good total of 276 runs in 50 overs by losing 6 wickets. Qamran played a brilliant innings of 107 runs off 123 balls, studded with 10 fours and 4 sixes, while Jiyaad contributed valuable 72 runs with the help of 6 fours and 2 sixes, Musaif Ajaz (29) and Abdul Samad (20) were the other contributors. For Odisha, Suman Kumar Das scalped 3 important wicket.
In reply, Odisha bundled out for 191 runs in 39.3 overs, thus lost the match by 85 runs. Opening batsman Swastik Samal scored magnificent 122 runs off 128 balls, studded with 19 fours and 1 six, while Nitish N Samantaray contributed 40 runs to the total. For Jammu and Kashmir, Abdul Samad was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 5 important wicket by conceding 22 runs in his 10 overs, while Taizeem Younis Tak claimed 4 wickets by giving away 20 runs in 8.2 overs.
