Pvt Schools Association resents implementation of SRO- 460

UDHAMPUR, July 4: A meeting of private schools of district Udhampur was organized under the chairmanship of Ajay Gupta, general secretary J &K PSA Jammu for highlighting the grievances of private schools
Members representing Ram Nagar, Khoon, Raiper, Sunal, Roun, Baryal, Kaldi, Chenani, Jib ,Thathi , Udhampur etc, took part in the meeting and expressed their serious concern regarding the circular by Assistant Labour Commissioner Udhampur for the implementation of revised rates of minimum wages vide SRO No 460, dated 26/10/17 with immediate effect.
The members said that on the one hand Government has restricted the private schools to enhance the tuition fee and on the other hand all types of commercial taxes, labour laws, hefty municipal and inspection fee were being imposed. It has become difficult for the low budget schools to implement such type of draconian rules and regulations, they added.
Ajay Gupta, demanded an immediate amendment in the sub rule 2A of rule 4 of SRO 292 of 02/07/18 concerning all essential certificates viz school building safety certificate, fire safety certificate and chemical laboratory safety certificate so that the life span of these certificates could coincide with the period of recognition / permission granted to a school to save time , money and energy of schools management .
Members appealed to the Governor N N Vohra to intervene and install a mechanism which is genuine, simple and acceptable to all the stakeholders of private education sector to save this venture from harassment and extinction.
Those who spoke in the meeting, included Vishwa Mohan Sharma (Chairman PSA Udhampur), R P Sharma( president PSA Udhampur), Thomas Ooman, Chain Singh , Rakesh Kumar, Siddheshwar Sadhotra , Pankaj Sharma, Stally, Shashi Sharma, Vijay Kumar, Parshant Salaria, Rajesh Modi, Reham Din, Seddharth Magotra, Vishal Gupta , Rakesh Gupta and Vijay Losar.
