Punjab Wrestler Jassa wins Akhnoor Kesari Dangal Title

KATRA, Oct 2: Wrestler Jassa Patti of Punjab clinched the 65th Annual Akhnoor Kesari Vishal Dangal Title by defeating Wrestler Benia Min of Basantgarh in Udhampur District in a very tough fight that lasted for 11 minutes.
The mega historic and famous one day wrestling event was organized by Akhnoor Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of Madan Lal Gupta (Kaku Shah), President Akhnoor Dangal Committee and President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma.
In all 85 bouts were played in the one day long Dangal.
MLA Akhnoor Rajeev Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed cash prizes among winners and runner-up wrestlers. Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council Shiv Kumar Sharma presided over the function.
Mahant Rameshwar Dass Ji Maharaj, Retired SP Prithvi Raj Sharma, SDPO Munish Sharma and Social Activists and Wrestling Promoter Ram Paul Sharma were the guests of honour.
Virender Sharma and Pandit Rana were also present on the occasion. MLA Akhnoor Rajeev Sharma in presence of Shiv Kumar Sharma and Madan Lal Gupta (Kaku Shah) gave Rs 70,000 as cash prize money to winner of 1st malli bout Wrestler Jassa Patti while Rs 50,000 was given to runner-up Wrestler Benia Min of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
