JAMMU, Aug 19: Pacca Danga police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested two Punjab residents and recovered poppy straw from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Pacca Danga Police Station laid a naka near Manda and intercepted two persons, who were moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered 10.300 kilograms of poppy straw from the possession of two persons and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Dharampal, son of Tarsem Lal and Ajay Kumar, son of Daulat Ram, both residents of Bassi Hoshiyarpur Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 124/18 under Sections 8/15/29 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Police Station Pacca Danga and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by SHO Pacca Danga SI Dheeraj Nagpal made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Varun Jandial, Incharge SP City GL Sharma and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
