KHOUR, Feb 7:  Calling upon Coalition Government to come clean on public issues, former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand today said that the Government in State has failed to deliver on the ground and promises made to people have fallen flat. He said problems and issues pertaining to the common man are not being addressed and people are facing real hardships due to lack of administration.
Addressing a large public meeting at Khour in Akhnoor Sub Division today, Tara Chand said that people living in border and far flung areas are the worst sufferers as due to frequent cross-border firing, they have to face real hardships and the Government is hardly reacting to their issues. He said that people living in rural far-off areas of Pargwal, Battal and Thakkar are facing many problems as one hand they have to bear the burnt of living under constant fear of firing and on the other, no Government authority is coming to their rescue. Govt should provide the people of the area some alternate site for accommodation and financial support, he added.
The rally at Khour was part of the series which the party leaders are holding across the region on issue of demonetization and its affect on public. Former Minister and PCC general secretary Mula Ram, Ex-MLA and  general secretary Th Balwan Singh  also addressed  the rally.
Underlining the points raised by the AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi, Tara Chand said that demonetization in  the country and names of those who have deposited large amounts in accounts preceding demonetization are the key points which are hunting the Government. Country has been taken to ride by poorly conceived idea of demonetization and innocent middle class as well as poor people including women with small savings are the worst sufferers of the drive, he maintained.
Lambasting the Government on the issues concerning downtrodden and weaker sections of the society, former DyCM said that the denial of reservation in promotion to the reserved category employees clearly depicts that the Govt does not want to extend the legitimate rights to tem.
Describing the rally as ‘Chaurahe-pe-Charcha’ initiative, Tara Chand said that problems and issues of public would be openly discussed so that the present dispensation wakes up from the slumber of inactivity and people come to know about the reality of fake promises which were made to the people of the State.
