Public Grievance Redressal Camps organised at 8 Panchayats

UDHAMPUR, Feb 13: District Administration, Udhampur, today organised various Public Grievance Redressal Camps for 8 panchayats including Seen Thakran, Garnai, Bhattal, Ballian, Rathian, Kawa, Thanowa and Chari-Swail. Drive for enrolment of MGNREGA job Card holders under Aasra Social Security Schemes was also launched.
District Development Commissioner, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary and all officers of district Administration including District Officers, Sectoral Officers, Project Officers and Block/Tehsil level Officers attended the public grievance redressal camps in which thousands of people participated and raised various demands related to development.
At Seen Thakran, construction of suspension bridge, compound wall for 3 schools, blacktopping of 3KM road, water supply connection for 55 households, community sanitary complex and electric connectivity for two hamlets was approved to be completed in 2 months.
The DDC also inspected Middle school Phlatta and Middle School Garnai where he interacted with staff and students. Rs 500 cash award was given to well performing students and mid day meal was also checked by visiting officers. Water connectivity for two uncovered hamlets in Phlatta will be provided.
The DDC responding to demands at Bhattal-Ballian announced special measures by district administration including construction of a new Community Hall, connecting Rathian with National Highway, HT/LT lines and station at Larang, flood lights for Gurudwara and Temple, electricity supply to 60 households, Rs 5 lakh for WSS Ballian, two foot bridges and water tanks. He also assured for initiating action against environmental pollution and taking measures for development of village infrastructure.
During the public meeting held at Bishal in Cheri village, it was decided that 2 volleyball courts will be constricted to promote rural sports. Other demands agreed in the camp included compound wall for village schools, widening of road, CSC, blacktopping of Jakheni-Salmay road, desilting of canal, opening of skill development training centre for women and books for students.
Dr Shahid stressed for Open Defecation Free panchayats under Swacch Bharat Mission, coverage of MGNREGA workers under Aasra, camps under Hunar Scheme, facilitating poor families under Marriage Assistance Scheme. He also informed about infrastructure development of Education and Health Departments through Panchayats.
