JAMMU, Mar 16: Jammu Kashmir Public Service Commis-sion has once again made it clear that there would be no postponement of the Combined Compe-titive Examination (CCE), which has been scheduled to be held on March 19.
“The schedule of examinations of all relevant Institutions beyond 19th leaves no escaping from what is fixed by SPSC and change if any would delay CCE by at least 6 months for none of our or candidates’ fault,” said PSC Chairman Abdul Latif Deva, in response to the demand for postponement of the CCE exam in view of its clash of date with SSC exam.
He claimed that while fixing the date for PE, the Calendars of UPSC/SSC/SSB and local/ premier Central Universities for examinations were gone through and finding no clash in respect of 19th March, the date was fixed. “Even at present, the Calendar of SSC on their Website would prove our stand point,” he added.
The PSC Chairman pointed out that as per the information collected from Regional Office Chandigarh,   only 44 candidates with residential address in JK have to appear in SSC Tier 3rd examination as against over 47000 candidates from the State appearing in PE on 19th March, who include a large number of aspirants presently putting stay outside the State and preparing for the exam despite all heavy odds.
Reiterating that there will be no change in schedule of CCE exam, Deva said that   Parliamentary bye elections and proposed Panchayat elections were also relevant factors behind the PSC stand. Even change in timing will be of little value as the venue for SSC examination is Chandigarh, he added.
