PSA expresses anguish over unrealistic attitude of Govt for fee fixation

JAMMU, Mar 4: A meeting of Private Schools Association (PSA) was held in the premises of Shiksha Nikaten Higher Secondary School, Jeewan Nagar, under the chairmanship of Rameshwar Mengi, Vice President J&KPSA, here today.
The meeting was attended by the district heads from all the districts of Jammu Province and Executive members of the Central Body J&KPSA.
The members expressed anguish over the unrealistic and hostile attitude of the State Government for the fixation of fee of unaided private schools as these educational institutions are authorized by FFC to enhance fee at the rate of 8 percent for three years whose base is kept August 2014.
Members also condemned the step motherly treatment given by the Director School Education Jammu for granting recognition to number of schools up to class 8th after his retirement by the pick and choose method for the interest best known to the concerned officials, although 324 files as per circular number 04-DSEJ of 2018 dated 09-02-2018 after fulfilling all the conditions and norms are gathering dust in the department.
General Secretary of the Association, Ajay Gupta after a threadbare discussion and general consensuses with the associates appealed to all the stakeholders not to enhance the tuition fee more than 8 percent for the academic session 2018-19 till the Committee for Fee Fixation does not come out with a clear cut policy for the unaided private schools.
He said, apart from this, the matter of FFC is also subjudice in the High Court.
Prominent among others who attended the meeting included Ankur Sharma (Advocate), Ram Parkash, Ashwani Khajuria, Kiran Raina, Usha Jawal, Rajdulhari, Ajay Singh, Deepak Handa,Sat Paul Mansotra, Kulbinder Singh, Prithvi Khokhar, Sham Singh Langey and Gansara Singh.
