JAMMU, Feb 2: Peoples Republican Party (PRP) in a meeting here, today held under the chairmanship of its president Mir Ghulam Rasool expressed grave concern over the irresponsible role of political parties in the State and has appealed them to behave like responsible politicians.
Addressing the meeting Mir said that recent incidents and statements of the leaders of various political parties show that instead of bringing State out of present turmoil which has gripped it almost for three decades now they are trying to create further wedge between the people of two regions.
He said it has been this irresponsible role of politicians  right from 1947 that J&K is in the grip of turmoil since 1989 as political leaders always exploited the masses and misled them for their vested interests and a large section of people was forced to leave Valley.
Mir said instead of accusing each other to settle the scores, the political parties both ruling class and opposition are supposed to work for restoration of everlasting peace and normalcy, return of migrant people to their homes and hearths, eradication of unemployment and bettering the avenues of earning. He said in view of the sensitivity of this border State political parties were supposed to behave in a reasonable way and work for building confidence among people of different religions and three regions of the State instead raising emotive issues as the State has already suffered heavy damage in three decades of bloodshed.
Mir also criticized the Government for not settling the problems of working class, laborers and employees and demanded regularization of adhoc and daily rate workers and immediate implementation of Seventh Pay Commission.
