Provide adequate compensation to Pak firing victims: Chib

JAMMU, Oct 27: Former minister and senior Congress leader R S Chib visited the border villages of Suchetgarh sector, which have been worst effected by the unprovoked firing and heavy shelling by the Pakistan Army.
Chib after conducting extensive visit of these villages said that the residents of this border area, along the Indo-Pak border have suffered massive destruction of property, including damage to their houses and loss of large number of cattle as the civilian population has been directly hit by heavy mortar fire.
Chib said that, though the people are shifting to safer places, at their own, but there is need on the part of the administration to chalk out a planned strategy, for their safe and secured movement. The people residing along the LoC and IB have faced many situations earlier also, but at present they are passing through the worst situation. He urged upon the Government to streamline the process of shifting and their safety and security more effective.
The Congress leader appreciated the courage shown by the people of this borders area, working shoulder to shoulder with the brave officers and jawans of BSF. The people expressed full faith in BSF for their guidance and help in this difficult time.
Meanwhile, Chib paid a visit to GMC Hospital to enquire about the health of six injured persons from village Gopar Basti (Suchetgarh). He also met the Principal GMC and Medical Suptd, and expressed satisfaction, that the injured persons are being provided with all the necessary medical facilities.
Chib appealed to the public for liberal donation of blood, so that there is no shortage of blood in the Hospital Blood Bank.
