DODA, June 2: Due to ongoing pen down strike by Girdawars and Patwaris across the State from the past 20 days, the people are suffering a lot to get their works done.
On the call given by All J&K Patwar Association, all the Girdawars and Patwaris throughout the State are on strike for the past 20 days in support of their demands.
Amid slogans, a large number of Girdawars and Patwaris assembled here and took out a protest rally.
They were demanding grade pay for Graduate Patwaris, conducting timely DPC of Patwares and Girdawars, creation of GQ Circles and Patwar halqas, ban on direct recruitment of Naib Tehsildar, enhancement of allowances for Patwaris and Girdawars, rent for Patwar Khanas (private accommodation) and construction of Patwar Khanas.
The protest was led by Senior State Vice President State Mushtaq Ahmed Ganai, Province Jammu Farooq Malik, District President Kishtwar Nissar Ahmed Butt and District President Doda Reyaz Ahmed Ahmed Lone.
While speaking, Mushtaq Ahmed Ganai said that it is very unfortunate that those at the helm of affairs have agreed to solve the demands but are not practically taking the steps to resolve the demands of Patwar Association.
“We will further intensify our protest, if our demands are not redressed”, he warned.
