Protesters detained

SRINAGAR, Oct 29: Families of youth arrested last week from Sopore’s Bomai village today protested against police for arresting youth and labeling them as militants. They were detained when they tried to come out on the busy Residency Road.
The protesters said that on October 26, police claimed to have busted the module of the militant outfit belonging to Lashkar-e-Toiba by arresting eight youth from different areas of Sopore town and adjoining areas. They said that these youth have no links with the militant outfit.
The agitating protestors said that the police claims were baseless in which they framed innocent youth as militants.
Aijaz Ahmad, one of the protesters said that his brother Sajad Ahmad Bhat of Harvan village of Sopore is pursuing Masters in Sociology and has been arrested on false claims. ”
Around a dozen protesters were detained by the police as they tried to come out on the busy Residency Road.
