Protest over death of woman

Srinagar, Oct 30: Protests broke out in Bandipora town today after an Army vehicle crushed an old lady to death.
People protest against the rash driving by Army and for not obeying the traffic rules. The protesters were cane charged. Police also fired tear smoke shells to disperse the protesters.
A police statement said that a lady died after she was hit by an Army vehicle near Police Station Bandipora. Police has registered a case in this regard and seized the vehicle. “The driver of the vehicle has also been arrested,” the statement added.
Police identified the deceased lady as Sooda Akhter daughter of Ghulam Hassan resident of Turkipora, Bandipora. Police statement said that a case has been registered under FIR no. 189/2014 in this regard.
