MENDHAR, Jan 31: The people from Ari and Mendhar area have expressed their strong resentment and lodged their protest against police for failure to work out theft cases.
While two shops were burgled in the main market Mendhar last week, another theft took place at Ari in the house of one Abdul Qayoom, son of Said Mohd three weeks back. The thieves decamped with 15 tola gold ornaments and Rs 2 lakh cash from this house. From the shops some cash and other karyana items were stolen. The police has failed to work out these cases.
The people from Ari blocked Mendhar-Surankote road for over two hours and held protest the other day. The incharge SDPO however, assured them to work out the case shortly. Local Beopar Mandal members lodged strong protest with SDM regarding theft in the main market and failure of police to work out case.
