Prosecution failure leads to acquittal of narco smuggler

JAMMU, Oct 22: Principal Sessions Judge Jammu, Kartar Singh has acquitted Shiv Kumar, son of Bishamber Dass, who was facing trial in NDPS case as prosecution miserably failed to prove the case.
According to the police, on April 9, 2009 Incharge Police Post Parade Ground, Jammu stopped Shiv Kumar and subjected him to checking. During the search of Shiv Kumar, Police recovered charas, which was seized on spot. Accordingly, a case under NDPS Act was registered against him and challan presented.
After hearing both the sides, Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Kartar Singh held that there was not even an iota of incriminating evidence against the accused. He was, accordingly, acquitted of the charges framed against him.
