Prosecution failure leads to acquittal in attempt to rape case

JAMMU, Jan 16: Presiding Officer Fast Track Court has acquitted one Davinder Kumar allegedly involved in attempt to rape case as prosecution failed to prove its case.
After hearing both the sides, the court observed, “it becomes the duty of the prosecution to prove the role played by the accused person for the commission of the offence”, adding “prosecution story is shrouded with mystery and cannot be relied upon”.
With these observations, court acquitted the accused.
