BARAMULLA: Property worth lakhs of rupees was damaged in a devastating fire incident in Uri in this north Kashmir district on Tuesday, official sources said.
They said fire broke out in a house at Lachipora Uri in this district. However, before the fire tenders could reach the spot, fire spread to adjoining houses and other structures also.
Four houses and other household goods were damaged, in the fire. Some animals were also killed in the incident. However, the locals, fire brigade personnel and the Army managed to control the leaping flames. The cause of fire was not immediately known. (AGENCIES)
