Prohit Sabha Martand constitutes 8 member EC to hold elections

JAMMU, Oct 29: Prohit Sabha Martand Tirath Improvement Charitable Trust has appointed Ghanshyam Ji Khah and Harikrishan Kichloo as new Election Commissioner and Joint Election Commissioner respectively to hold the general elections to the Sabha held after expiry of every five years.
This was stated by Sham Lal Tickoo, Acting Chairman of the Sabha, M K Yogi, president of the Sabha and Pankaj Ji Sidha incharge Suriya Bhawan Jammu at a press conference here today.
They said a meeting was held in the Sabha premises here yesterday in this regard under the patronage of its chairman R N Koul, Acting cxhairman , S L Tickoo and president M K Yogi and general secretary Veer Ji Pandits in which all the members of the Biradri participated.
They said that the two commissioners have been empowered to constitute an Election Commission of eight members for smooth conduct of the elections to the Sabha.
They said all the notifications issued till date stand revoked and be deemed null ad void. The new Election Commission shall immediately initiate process for holding the elections to the Sabha strictly in compliance with the rules of the Sabha Constitution.
They said the elections will be held as per the guidelines of the Constitution and the misunderstanding what so ever was there has been sorted out in the larger interests of the Sabha and community. There will be no delay in holding the elections, they added.
The Sabha leaders also made an appeal to members of the community from Mattan to participate in the elections in large numbers and give their mandate to right and honest candidates. They said the date for the elections will be announced soon.
Mr Yogi also appealed the community members who have attained 18+ age to enroll themselves as voters and participate in elections of the Sabha. Yogi said chairman R N Koul has given his consent to the decision of the Biradri and stressed on working unitedly.
They also announced appointment of Vijay Kumar Mukhi as member secretary of the Commission.
