JAMMU, July 30: Minister of State for Education, Technical Education, Culture, Tourism, Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks Priya Sethi Saturday inaugurated an Art Studio at Kala Kendra.
While addressing the gathering, Priya Sethi said that this studio is an inspiration for the budding artists and it will provide an apt environment to nurture and showcase their talent .
The Minister also took a view of paintings and sculptures made by various renowned senior and young artists. She appreciated the paintings and sculptures and said that it will attract the youngsters to choose the arts as profession.
Secretary Kala Kendra, Soujanya Sharma informed that this studio will be helpful for those artists who don’t have their own space to do work and also it was a long cherished demand of the artists to have such type of studio facility.
Soujanya Sharma also said that locker facility will be provided to the artists to keep their belongings on Rs. 500 monthly charges. He said that Rs 2000 is the security charges which are refundable.
An open discussion was made in the function regarding the requirements of the artists.
Among others senior artists including Suman Gupta, Sangeeta Gupta, Rohit Verma, Milan Sharma, Sahil Ohri, Bhushan Kesar, Ankush Kesar, Richa Gupta, Manoj Chopra, TS Batra and students were present on the occasion.
