Priya Dutta enthralls audience in Kathak Dance Recital

JAMMU, June 21: Dr. Priya Dutta, a prominent Kathak Dancer of the State has given a thrilling performance of Kathak Dance in a Programme organized by the Jammu and Kashmir, Academy of Art, Culture and Languages at Abhinav Theatre, here.
Dr. Priya Dutta is a daughter of the soil and has acquired her Education up to Bachelor of Music (Kathak) from University of Jammu then did  her Master Degree from Punjab University, Chandigarh  and finally Ph. D from IKSV, Khairagarh, Chhattisgarh in 2015.
She has earned a lot of name and fame in the field of Kathak dance by way of giving appreciable performance of Dance in and outside the State by dint of her hard work and dedication, she has been decorated with numerous award among which are the Award of scholarship in the field of Kathak for two year from Ministry of Tourism and Culture  Department, Govt. of India and Roll of honour award from G.C.G, Chandigarh 1999-2000.
Anjali Sharma, Director, Doordarshan Kendra, Jammu.who was the chief guest on the occasion applauded the role of the J&K Academy in taking initiative to promote the Art and Culture  in the State in an innovative way. She said that programme initiated by the J&K Academy like Jharokha and Sahre Prauhne are yielding positive results so far as the promotion of Art, Culture and Languages is concerned. J&K Academy really deserves appreciation for it, she added.
Those who accompanied as performers with Dr. Priya Dutta were Bhawna, Romika, Mukulani, Ankita and Raksha. The accompanists were Raj Kumar Behrupia (Harmonium), Parshotam and Vijay (Tabla).
Earlier welcoming the august gathering, Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Academy highlighted the aim and objective of holding such type of programmes. He said that the introduction of new era of electronic world in the social setup has put a big effect on these nature of art like classical Art Academy is trying its level best to divert their interests but by involving in the programme.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Ms. Mitali Gupta whereas the Vote of thanks was  presented by Ashok Gupta, Editor Dogri, JKAACL.
Among prominent were present include: Prof Lalit Magotra, VK Sambyal, Vidya Rattan Aasi, Narayan Prashad, Anil Saraf, Prof Ashok Kumar, Prof Pankaj Srivasat, Dean, Students Welfare, University of Jammu.
