JAMMU, June 24: Expressing his surprise over the assertions made by BJP national president Amit Shah regarding failure of his own party in Jammu and Kashmir, former Minister & Congress leader Sham Lal Sharma today sought to know who prevented the Central Government to a promising role in the prevailing situation.
While addressing public meeting at Panchayat Chak Kirpalpur, Block Bhalwal in Akhnoor, Sham Lal mocked at Amit Shah for not being aware that his party was a coalition in the Government to whom he criticized in the public.
“Amit Shah blamed the Government for non utilisation of funds for various projects, which come under the departments headed by BJP Ministers,” he pointed out and added that either the BJP national president was having no knowledge about the State BJP role in the administration or he intentionally did it to gain so called sympathy from the Jammu people in view of ensuing Parliament & Assembly elections.
However, he maintained, the BJP would not succeed in its game as the people have realized their mistakes of giving massive mandate to the party in 2014 Parliament and Assembly elections. “BJP- PDP Government has belied their hopes. This time they cannot befool the people by passing the buck to other side, ” he added and reiterated that the BJP was equally responsible for the injustice meted out to Jammu and Ladakh regions.
“If they (BJP) felt that Jammu & Ladakh regions were being discriminated, had they ever protested against the same while in the Government?” Sham said and added that it was laughable when the national president himself claimed that the funds meant for Jammu & Ladakh development didn’t reach to these regions. “Where these funds have gone? It requires thorough probe by a high powered committee to pin point the responsibility,” he stressed.
Sham further pointed out that BJP national president Amit Shah spoke so much on various issues but didn’t utter a single word on important matter like abrogation of Article 370 and Common Civil Code.
Alleging that not even a single promise was fulfilled by BJP Government at Centre also, Sham Lal said that people of Jammu were aware of nefarious designs of the saffron party, which wanted to mislead them again and hence the same would not be allowed to happen.
