JAMMU, Apr 17: In yet another effort to instill democratic values in the younger generation, Investiture ceremony  was held in the premises of Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School (PCSSS), Gandhi Nagar, here today.
The new council members took the Oath of Office after evenhanded elections in the school. Father Shaiju Chacko, graced the occasion as the chief guest. The parents of newly elected members were also invited as guests on this auspicious occasion.
The ceremony started with a short program crafted around the theme, ‘Women-heralding a new dawn’, which hailed the role of women in the emerging democratic trends. It was an aide memoire to all, to seek inspiration from women of substance from our radiant past.
After this the new members, who were bedecked with sashes and badges, vowed their allegiance to the institution and promised to uphold the creed of their Alma Mater and they promised to work in tandem for smooth functioning and efficacy.
The head girl, in her maiden speech, promised to fulfill all responsibilities entrusted to the council with utmost dedication and zeal.
Chief guest, Father Shaiju Chacko in his congratulatory message urged the students to become exemplary leaders and true role models to others.
The Principal of the School, Sister Rosamma encouraged them to be a spark empowered by the Divine light and to carry forward the Lantern of service to humanity with dedication and love, thus emboldening the vision of our Foundress Nano Nagle.
