Pregnant woman dies after medicated by local drugs seller

RAJOURI, Aug 8: A pregnant young woman was died after she was medicated by a local medical shop owner in Rehan area of Kandi in district Rajouri today.
The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Parvez Akhtar, wife of Mohd Bashir, resident of Rehan village.  The woman had three children and the youngest one is hardly of 11 months. She again became pregnant. She moved to the  local medical shop  and asked the druggist to provide some medicine for clearing her womb as she was not interested to keep the child.  The medical shop owner at Hill Morh, gave some costly medicine to her and asked to consume it after going home.
After some time of taking medicine at home, the woman developed severe pain in stomach and chest   and she narrated the matter to husband and other members. She became serious and was  rushed  to Rajouri hospital by the family, where she died after some time.  The family members later told the matter to DC Rajouri and Chief Medical Officer.
The body was sent for  postmortem which will be performed by a board of doctors tomorrow. The DC has directed  the police to take cognizance of the mater and initiate investigation.
