Power supply remains hit for 2nd day in Doda-Kishtwar belt

JAMMU: The power supply in Doda and Kishtwar districts remained suspended today for the second day following damage to a transmission tower in Udhampur, officials said.

The tower maintained by the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) at Thard village had tilted yesterday afternoon, they said.

“Efforts are on to restore the electricity to the Doda- Kishtwar belt. The NHPC experts are on the job and had set a deadline of 6.30 pm for restoration of the service, but due to some technical problem the power supply could not be restored,” Power Development Department (PDD) official said.
