Based on the survey carried out by JK CM’s grievance cell, so far most candidates are clearly in favour of postponing the KAS exams. It is a fairly large sample but given the challenges of communication all over the State, we cannot safely assume that this sample is representative of the entire group. The points made by the candidates certainly point serious inadequacies in the system. The grievance cell is in favour of timely examinations but exams must be conducted after due notice and after all the relevant conditions have been fulfilled.
However, given the autonomous character of JKPSC, it has the complete right to act or discard the suggestions elicited from respondents. But to uphold the important institutions, it is expected that the suggestions are re-considered and acted upon, keeping in view the genuine concerns of the candidates.
