REASI, Sept 11: The post of Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Mahore is lying vacant for the last more than an year thus causing hardships to the locals, who have been facing problems in administrative matters.

Besides SDM Mahore, the posts of ZEO Mahore, ZEO Chassana BDO Mahore are lying vacant for the reasons best known to the concerned authorities at higher level.
Aggrieved over the prevailing situation, locals of Mahore today held a strong protest demonstration. They raised slogans against the administration and demanded that the SDM Mahore be directed to take the charge and assume duties.
The protesters said that the post of SDM Mahore was lying vacant for the last 14 months but administration and Government did not initiate any action in this regard. The new SDM Mahore was appointed one month before but due to unknown reasons, he was sent to back to his earlier place of posting for the unknown reasons, they added.
Later, the protesting people submitted a memorandum at the Tehsil office, where Naib Tehsildar Mahore Mohd Yousaf assured that he would forward their demand to the higher authorities.
The protesting people also warned to launch a vigorous protest and hunger strike if SDM Mahore is not appointed before September 15.
The protest demonstration was addressed by Ghulam Mohidin Sarpanch, Mustaq Malik, Abdul Subhan Shan, Javid Mir, Shahnawaz Malik, Haji Bashir Ahmed Malik, Mohd Amqola, Choudhary Lal Din and others.
