POONCH, July 28: Poonch XI thrashed Jallian Cricket Club Mandi by 46 runs in the ongoing Tennis Cricket Night tournament at Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS), here today.
Earlier, batting first, Poonch XI scored a good total of 108 runs in 10 overs, losing 4 wickets in the process. Parvez Afridi top scored with brilliant 70 runs, while Arif and Gurvinder contributed 17 runs each. From Jallian Club, Bilal took 2 wickets.
Chasing a target of 109 runs, Jallian Club Mandi managed to score 62 runs in the allotted overs to lose the match by a margin of 46 runs. From Poonch XI, Gurvinder, Arif and Imran took 2 wickets each.
Devinder Singh (PEM) was the chief guest on the occasion.
The tournament is being organised under the banner of Ehsaas Foundation and under the supervision of Parvaiz Malik, Chairman of Ehsaas Foundation and Gurvinder Singh, Organising Secretary.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Vijay Sharma, Narinder Singh, Pawan Sharma, Harpreet Singh, Ishtiaq Ahmed, Waheed Ahmed, Arshad Chowdhary, Matinder Pal Singh and Rajinder Singh.
The matches are being officiated by Imran, Sajad Kirmani, Gurmeet Singh, Ankush Sharma, Iftikhar Bhatti, Navjot Singh, Manik Bharghav, Sukhpreet Singh, Zaffar Shah and Imran Khan.
