Poonch, Feb 27: District Police Poonch organized two Hockey matches at Sports stadium here, under Civic Action Programme, today.
The first match was played between Power House Club and Stadium-XI in women’s category ,wherein Power House Club defeated the rival team by a solitary goal ( 1-0). Arvind Kumar, ADDC Poonch was the chief guest on the occasion.
The second match was played between Stadium-XI and Boys Higher Secondary School Poonch in men’s category wherein former prevailed over latter by four goals to one ( 4-1). Padamshree Shambu Nath Khajuria was the chief guest on the occasion.
The chief guests in both the matches, while speaking on the occasion eulogized the role of District Police Poonch for organizing different sports events in the District and providing the platform to players of different games for enhancing their talent and channelize their energy.
They exhorted upon the players to exhibit spirit of true sportsmanship and inculcate among themselves discipline besides maintaining the best tradition of communal harmony and brotherhood for overall development of the nation.
The matches are being organized under the overall supervision of SSP Poonch, J S Jowhar.
Prominent among those who were present on the occasion includes Khalid Amin, DySP DAR, Deepak Digr, -DySP Hqrs, Sheezan Bha, -DySP (Ops) Poonch, Sarla Bakshi, Sanjay Raina, Sham Lal (Retd. Hockey coach), Pardeep Khanna, Nirdosh Kumar, Mohd Tariq, Prem Parkash Luthra, Narinder Mohan Suri, Rajinder Singh Toofan and Vijay Kumar.
The matches were officiated by Narinder Singh (PEM) and Pawan Kuma (PET).
