Political parties, social organizations condemn ceasefire violations by Pak

JAMMU, June 13: Various political parties and social organizations condemned the ceasefire violations by Pakistan in Chamliyal area of district Samba, in which 4 BSF jawans got martyred and several others sustained injuries.
Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress committee has strongly condemned Pakistan’s treacherous attitude in resorting to heavy shelling today morning despite DGMOs commitment to maintain ceasefire and expressed shock over martyrdom of four BSF personnel at Chamliyal.
In a statement issued, PCC President GA Mir and other senior congress leaders said that Pakistan’s cowardly acts need to be condemned in the strongest possible words, as it has time and again resorted to treacherous acts of ceasefire violations, despite commitments at DGMOs levels and announcement for observing the ceasefire agreement of 2003 and maintaining calm on the borders.
“There is lot of anger amongst the border residents. Modi Government is answerable to nation for failure to handle Pakistan and deal with it in the appropriate manner”, he added.
The other signatories to the statement included Raman Bhalla, Mula Ram, RS Chib, Balwan Singh, Manjit Singh, Shabir Khan, Chowdhary Shahnawaz, Gharu Ram, Prof Gharu Ram Bhagat and Parkash Sharma.
Dubbing Pakistan as a threat to the peace in South Asian region in the backdrop of the heavy shelling and firing from across the LoC and IB in the recent past particularly in Chamliyal during which one BSF officer and three jawans were martyred, dozens of Panthers party activists staged a demonstration spearheaded by Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP and Former Minister against persistent Pak misadventures in J&K at Exhibition Ground Jammu today. The angry protestors set ablaze the effigy of BJP for its stoic and timid silence against Pak’s persistent cease fire violations.
Prominent among those who led the protest included Rajesh Padgotra, Parshotam Parihar, Nirmal Kishore, Rajeshwar Singh Sambyal, Khajoor Singh, Mohinder Singh, besides others.
Condemning Pakistan’s cowardice act of killing four BSF jawans, Former MLA and Coordinator AUCC Vichar Vibhag Ashok Sharma has criticized the Union and State Government for their failure to bring peace on the borders. He reiterated the demand of providing Rs 25 lakh each to the martyrs family and Rs 5 lakh to the injured as compensation, besides job to a family member. He also demanded construction of concrete bunkers and shelters at safe places for the families affected due to border firing and shelling.
The workers of Dogra Front & Shiv Sena under the leadership of its President Ashok Gupta held protest by burning the Pakistan Flag against the unprovoked firing by Pakistan in the Samba sector which led to the martyrdom of 4 BSF soldiers.
The party workers present during the protest were Sushma, Sunita, Kamla, Shashi, Raj Kumari, Anita, Krishna, Des Raj, etc.
Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM led by its State President Sunil Dimple held anti Pak rally and also staged protest against the ceasefire violations by the Pakistan, in which fouor BSF jawans attained martyrdom. While speaking, Dimple appealed to the Prime Minister and Home Minister to withdraw the unilateral ceasefire and give befitting reply to Pakistan for its cowardice acts.
Among others present were Sham Saroop, Vijay Khjuria, Sunil Gandotra, Chaman Pawar, Ram Kapoor, Kala Kumhar, Amit Raina, etc.
Strongly condemning brutal killing of four BSF troopers including one Assistant Commandant, the Team Jammu said that BJP leadership has failed to deal with Pakistan’s treacherous. In a statement issued, Chairman of Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal recalled that during 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP leadership has promised to deal Pakistan with iron hand but now it appears that party has crossed all limits of appeasement. Jamwal added that during the last four years killings on the borders have increased manifold and those who always claim to give befitting reply to Pakistan are gone to hibernation after attaining power.
Condemning the unprovoked firing by Pakistan which resulted in the martyrdom of four BSF jawans in Ramgarh sector of Samba District during Ramzan, the State President, Shri Ram Sena, Rajiv Mahajan regretted that the Indian Government has so far failed to manage international pressure on Pakistan, who had intensified activities from across the border and LoC in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the Central Government must strongly convey to Pakistan that the ceasefire violations, sponsoring terrorism and talks can’t go together.
