Political parties celebrate 68th Republic Day with fervor, zeal

JAMMU, Jan 27: Almost all the political parties and their frontal organizations celebrated 68th Republic Day of the country by hoisting National Flag at several places with full enthusiasm and patriotic fervor.
Pradesh Congress Committee State president hoisted the national flag at PCC headquarters at Shahidi Chowk here along with District Congress Committee Jammu (Urban) and several leaders of party frontal organizations. JKPCC chief while addressing remembered the great contribution and sacrifices of those who attained freedom for the nation. He referred to the historical role of the great stalwarts of the freedom movement under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi and finally the constitution of the country was implemented on this day which has guaranteed the freedom and equality of all irrespective of caste, creed, colour and religion or economic status, which has ensured unity in diversity in this largest democracy of the world.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included PCC senior vice president Sham Lal Sharma, vice president Raman Bhalla, former Minister Mohd Sharief Niaz, Kanta Bhan, PCC spokesman Ravinder Sharma, Rajneesh Sharma, Farooq Andrabi, Shabir Ahmed Khan, Ch Shah Mohd, Vikram Malhotra, Hilal Shah, general secretaries PCC, ex-MLA Indu Pawar president Mahila Wing, Anil Chopra, presient DCC Jammu Urban, B S Sambyal (Seva Dal), S Gurdarshan Singh, Lalita Sharma, K L Gupta, K L Abrol, Mansa Ram, Ch Sukhdev Singh, B B Gupta, Dr R K Khajuria, Madan Lal Malagar, Pt Suresh Bargotra, Sunil Kumar, P S Chouhan, Naresh Maini, Parveen Singh, Dwarka Choudhary, Jyoti Vaid, Kamlesh Bassi, Chanchal Popli, Vamres David, Mohit Nath, Subash Sharma, Vijay Sharma, Pawan Sharm,a, J L Koul, Babu Singh, Gourav Chopra, Sanjeev Luthra, Ashwani Handa, Santosh Devi Susheel Sharma, Anand Gandotra, Pardeep Bhagat and several others.
Great stalwarts like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Sardar Patel, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, B R Ambedkar, Shaheed Bhagat Singh and many more political activists who got India liberated from the Britishers were prominently remembered at a function organized to celebrate Republic Day by local Bishnah unit here.
Senior Congress leader Maheshwar Singh unfurled the National Flag at Paloura Jammu. A large number of people attended the function. While addressing Maheshwar Singh stressed on the peoopole to maintain communal harmony, brotherhood and work for unity and integrity of the country. Prominent among those present were Bodh Raj, Mangal Dass, Pawan Kumar and Subash Kesar.
The Republic Day was celebrated at Babbar Chowk Sainik Colony with patriotic fervor in which Senior Congress leader Th Jai Singh and former Minister Raman Bhalla were the chief guests.
State chief of Congress Seva Dal Balvinder Singh Sambyal hoisted the National Flag as the chief guest at a function at Gandhi Nagar. While addressing he exhorted the workers to remain united against the communal forces which are out to play spoil sport. Others who also spoke were Rakesh Mahajan, Yash Paul Singh, Raju Awasthi, Sardar Harjeet Singh Gill, Swarn Singh, Mrs Rajni Sharma etc.
Shashi Sharma, PCC secretary, also hoisted National Tricolour at a function held at Bishnah in the presence of members of BCC Bishnah. Youth Congress Assembly president Vijay Tagotra, Town president MR Puri, Gulshan Sharma, Vijay Kumar and Ms Sudesh.
District Congress Committee Kathua celebrated the Republic Day in which DC president and former MLC Subash Gupta, who was the chief guest, unfurled the National Flag. Ex-president Municipal Council Kathua, Naresh Sharma, Karan Bhagat, Dr Paramjeet, Baljeet Singh, Sonu Singh, Ashok Kumar, Anant Ram Dogra, Jugal Kishore Bali, K C Bhagat, Ramesh Kumar, Parveen Kumar, Murari Lal and several others were present on the occasion.
Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Udhampur district celebrated Republic Day at Talab Salliyan, with enthusiasm and national fervor under the presidentship of Rakesh Gupta BJP Udhampur District. BJP State general secretary Pawan Khajuria was present in the function as chief guest. Tricolor was unfurled by senior BJP leader Neelam Nargotra. A large number of party cadre along with senior leaders were also present.
A colorful Republic function was held at Lal Chowk Udhampur which was organized by the political activists of MLA Udhampur Pawan Gupta. Even in heavy rains a large number of people of the Udhampur. While addressing Pawan Gupta greeted the people and appealed the people that it is our duty to maintain the integration and secularism by defeating the nefarious design of the enemy country. Gupta also said that his only mission is the development of Udhampur assembly constituency as their representative.  Anil Arora Jeevan Sharma, Raj Guru Gupta, Raj Muhammad Chandail, his prominent political activists were present in the celebration of the Republic Day.
Indian National Trade Union Congress, district Udhampur unit, celebrated the Republic Day at PHE Station Barrian Udhampur under the chairmanship of Som Nath, district Udhampur president of INTUC. Executive Engineer PHE Mech Division Udhampur was the chief guest. He unfurled the National Tricolour. Children sang National Anthem. Sweets were distributed among the participants and audience. Speaking on the occasion Som Nath appealed the employees and workers, who had thronged the venue in large number to work hard with dedication.
Panthers Party Ex-MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia hoisted the National Tricolour with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm at Slathia Chowk.
District Congress Committee Udhampur president Ashok Gupta unfurled the Tricolour at the function organized at Bhagat Singh Park with zeal and zest.
Former minister and senior State Vice President National Conference Surjeet Singh Slathia stressed the need for preserving and promoting secular ethos, saying unity in diversity is the biggest strength of the nation.
Unfurling tricolour at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan here Slathia exhorted the people to work for strengthening the bonds of amity between various segments of society and strive for steering the State and the nation to pinnacles of progress and prosperity.

Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal, additional general secretary J&K National Conference was the Chief Guest  at Choudhary Hospital Akhnoor today  on the occasion of 68th Republic Day of India and unfurled the National flag.
Dr Kamaal expressed his good wishes to all on this occasion and prayed for peace, progress , prosperity of Madr-e-Watan (motherland) India. Others present included Farooq Mughal political Advisor to Dr Kamaal, Dr Abdul Gaffor MD of Choudhary Hospital, Mrs Kudleep Kour warden civil defence  and VP women wing NC Akhnoor, Sansar Chand, Jagdish  Dutt Sodi, Gyan Chand, Ganesh of Youth NC, Garu Ram CEO Akhnoor Municipality and others.
BJP MLC Vivodh Gupta unfurled the National Flag at Thanamandi, which was perhaps for the first time in the history of the party. Appreciating the role of Rajouri and Poonch people in maintaining peace the MLC said that people of Thanamandi are having positive approach. Thanamandi Mandal president of BJP Abdul Gani Shawl thanked the people of the area for participating in the national event. Others present on the occasion were Rukhsar Bhat, Dr Bashir, Dr Missr, Zahid, Ch Manzoor Ashraf Bhat, Naiem Ganie, Maqsood Sabri and Shabir Dana.
District Jammu president of BJP Baldev Singh Billawria hoisted national flags at Ward-52 Preet Nagar, Ward-68 Beli Charana, Jeewan Nagar Ward 56, Gangyal Ward 51, Channi Himmat and Ward 52 Preet Nagar. While speaking Billawaria said we Indian are very lucky to get the republic and have true democracy and democratic institutions which ensure equal treatment to all for development.
Gandhinagar Mandal BJYM general secretary Kulbir Charak and BJYM State secretary Ishant Gupta hoistd national flag at Ward 50 and 51 Channi Himmat in Gandhinagar constituency. On the occasion they appealed the gathering to fulfil Swacch Bharat mission.
BJP district Udhampur unit celebrated the Day with pomp and show at Saillan Talab. State general secretary Pawan Khajuria hoisted the national flag. District president Rakesh Gupta and senior leader Som Raj Khajuria also witnessed the occasion.
BJP Mandal Bhaderwah celebrated the Day at Seri Bazar by hpisting the Tricolour. The function as organized by Mandal president Ramneek Singh Manhas. After flag hoisting sweets were distributed. Prominent among those present on the occasion were Koshal Kotwal, Raj Singh Charak, Bal Krishan Kotwal,Raj Singh Kotwal, Raju Charak, Jeevat Singh Charak, Neeraj Kotwal, Meanish Kumar, Daya Krishan Sharma, Sans Raj, Shiv Kumar Pandita, Ankit Gupta, Vicky Gupta, Hans Raj Sansal and Vijay Purohit.
The Day was celebrated at Peoples Democratic Party Office, Gandhi, Nagar Jammu, in which former Minister and Party Vice President S Rangil Singh unfurled the national flag with enthusiasm and gaiety. A number of Party senior leaders and workers were present on the occasion. Singh in his address highlighted the sacrifices of our great leaders for freedom and their endeavour for making India a republic and also urged upon the participants and inhabitants to remain united for the betterment of Jammu Kashmir and country.
Spokesperson Ved Mahajan,  Secreatry Jatinder Bhat, Satpal Charak, Capt Anil Gour, Ch Hussain Ali Waffa,  R K Bali, Ramesh Koul, Puneet Jamwal, Sushila Jamwal, Tarsem, Rajni Sharma, Rupali, Kavita Sharma and others were present in the programme.
Ch Husain Waffa, senior PDP leader also hoisted National flag at party office Sidhra, Nagrota. All dedicated party workers were present on the occasion.
Janata Dal Secular State president Mast Nath Yogi unfurled National flag at party headquarters R N Bazar. While addressing Mast Nath Yogi paid tributes to B R Ambedkar, maker of Indian constitution and the freedom fighters. He asked the people to strengthen the republic and uphold values enshrined in the constitution which has given equal rights to all citizens irrespective of caste, colour and creed. Others present on the occasion were Ranjay Bargotra, Ram Rattan Sharma, Bhagwati Sharan Sharma, R R Sharma, Haji Abdul Rehman, Chaman Lal Sharma, Tirath Singh, Amrik Singh Jamwal and other senior leaders and workers.
JDS senior vice president Ram Rattan Sharma hoisted Tricolour at Nagrota, where sweets distributed among the workers.
Lok Janshakti Party Youth hoisted the National flag at its office  where State president Vineet Karihullo unfurled Tricolour. While speaking he exhorted the people and party workers to strengthen the forces of secularism, unit of mankind and peaceful co-existence. Others present on the occasion were Karan Amla, Chandni Khatri, Mohit Sharma, Kiran Kumari, Dhruv Guipta, Am,andeep Singh, Rajat Kumar, Ranjit Kumar, Kirpal Singh Rajput, Shokat Hussain, Ranjeet Singh Rao, Sanjay Raina and Manoj Pandita.
Kranti Dal celebrated the Day at Sharika Vihar, Lower Roopnagar with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. Dal president Pritam Sharma unfurled the National Tricolour along with Karnail Chand, Rakesh Sharma, Parshotam Singh Pathania, Rajan Gupta, Shubham Kumar, Rohit Khajuria, Mohit Khajuria, Sham Lal Mehra, Puran Khajuria, Vijay Sharma, Ajay Kumar, Sunny Singh and Sonu Sharma.
