DODA, Sept 27: Police Sports Mela, under Civic Action Programme-2017-18, was inaugurated by Mohammad Shabir, SSP Doda at Sports Stadium, here today.
He was accompanied by Vinay Kumar Kullar, ASP Hqrs Doda and Nazir Ahmed Ganai, Deputy SP DAR Doda Doda.
The main objective of organizing such events under CAP was to bridge the gap between Police and Public and to channelize the energy of youth towards sports and constructive activities.
In the Discus Throw, Roh-un-Nisa of Shaheen Public School Doda secured 1st position while as Shruti Devi of Green Model Higher Secondary School Doda secured 2nd position.
In short put 1st position was bagged by Diksha Parihar of Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Doda while as 2nd position was secured by Monika Manhas of Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Doda. In Javelin Throw event Shruti Devi of Green Model Higher Secondary School Doda secured 1st position while as Kirna Devi of Green Model Higher Secondary School Doda secured 2nd position. In 100 Meter Race of girls, 1st Position was secured by Zahida of Girls Higher Secondary School Doda while as Geetanjli of Shaheen Public School Doda secured 2nd position. The events KHO- KHO (Girls), 200 Meters Race (Boys) will be organized tomorrow, while T20 Cricket and Tug of War final matches will be played on September 29, 2017.
