Police solves blind murder case, accused arrested

REASI, Feb 16: With the arrest of accused, Police has solved blind murder case of a person, who was found dead on the road at Jhandi Morh, near Kaanda, on October 30, 2016.
The deceased, identified as Bharat Singh, son of Dharam Singh, of Mangaal, tehsil Triyath, district Reasi, was assaulted to death by the accused Ravinder Singh alias Kalu of Mangaal, Triyath, who had offered lift to the former in his truck, informed SSP Reasi, Tahir Bhat.
Accused Ravinder Singh has admitted the commission of crime. During interrogation, he narrated that on 29.10.2016 after filling tanker No.9330/JK02BP from Indian Oil Depot Narwal Jammu, he left for  Rajouri Army unit. On reaching Bypass Akhnoor, he met  Bharat Singh (deceased) who was standing on the roadside for boarding of bus. The accused gave lift to  Bharat Singh in the tanker and left towards Rajouri, They also consumed liquor at Shuara Morh and then further halted at Galla Kalidhar where they took alcohol again and started further journey and when reached at Bhambla, they purchase more liquor from liquor shop and moved towards Bharakh. When they reached Bharakh, Ravinder Singh offered more alcohol to Bharat Singh and  both consumed  alcohol while sitting in the tanker. While taking liquor, a scuffle took place between them after  both abused each other. During scuffle, Ravinder Singh pushed Bharat Singh out of the Tanker and the latter fell down from the cabin of Tanker. When Bharat Singh again tried to enter into the cabin of Tanker,  Ravinder Singh  hit him with the tool called “Pana”  on neck due to which deceased fell down on the ground and became un-conscious. Thereafter Ravinder Singh lifted him inside the tanker in wee hours and threw the dead body on road side at Kanda and returned back towards Bhambla and fled away.
