Police seizes narcotics

PULWAMA, Oct 02: Police has seized narcotic drugs including hundreds of bottles of banned drugs and tablets after raiding different places in Pulwama district.
Station House Officer, Pulwama, Sabzar Ahmad, said after receiving information that some persons were selling narcotics to spread the menace of drug addicting.
Ahmad said they recovered at least 82 bottles of Codeine, 130 tablets of banned drugs at Kangan village from Khursheed Ahmad Lone son of Ghulam Ahmad Lone and 108 bottles of Codeine and 17 boxes of Spasmoproxim tablet from a chemist shop owned by Mukhtar Ahmad Baht in Murran Chowk.
The SHO said FIR’s number 201/2013 under Section 4/22 and 259/ 2013 under Section 8/22 of NDPS Act have been registered in the police station and a man hunt has been launched to nab the accused.
In another raid, police arrested two gamblers among five by raiding the ITI complex premises on Tuesday evening and seized an amount of Rs. 5,000 from the spot.
Three gamblers managed to flee from the spot and a manhunt has been launched to arrest them.
Police said the two arrested gamblers are residents of Dalipora of Pulwama town.
