Police rescues 4 skiers in Gulmarg

Srinagar, Feb 22: Police today rescued four foreign skiers who had gone missing from snow-bound mountains of Gulmarg ski resort in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A police official said that on February 21 at about 1900 hours, Police Station Gulmarg received information regarding missing of some skiers from Affarwat-Kongdori-Drang area.
“Reacting on the information, police along with Tourism Department deputed a rescue team during night hours and launched a rescue operation in the snow bound mountains. After hectic efforts in the cold condition, the skiers were traced in ‘Kharnala’ area in critical condition at about 0100 hrs,” he said.
The police official said that all the four skiers were brought to Gulmarg by rescuing team. “The skiers were hospitalised and their condition is now stable,” the police official added.
