Police produces challan in attempt to suicide case

KISHTWAR, Apr 24: The Kishtwar police today produced a challan in an attempt to suicide case against one Akthar Hussain of Keshwan, Kishtwar in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate Kishtwar.
The Station House Officer of police station Kishtwar, Inspector Sameer Jillani, had arrested one Akthar Hussain son of Ali Mohd, resident of village Keshwan, Kishtwar, an accused of attempt to suicide in the toilet complex of the police station, on April 22.
The accused was arrested in case FIR No 95/2018 under Section 309 RPC of police station Kishtwar. The Police today after getting the accused medically examined in the District Hospital Kishtwar today produced challan against him in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate Kishtwar.
The accused in front of the court confessed his guilt following which he was fined by the court to the tune of Rs 1000. The confessional statement of the accused was also recorded, with which allegations of torture and brutalities on the accused by police, as reported by a section of press, turned to be hoax and a story of lies.
It may be mentioned that on April 18 accused Akthar Hussain was called in the police station Kishtwar in connection with the missing of one Tariq Hussain of Saranwan. The accused during questioning requested to visit the toilet in the police station wherein he attempted to hang himself by tying his cloth belt with the fixures of toilet room door.
