Police prevents NYC volunteers to protest, 12 arrested

Excelsior Correspondent
Police arrested around one dozen National Youth Corps (NYC) volunteers as they tried to move in the city centre and raise protest in support of their demands.
This morning a group of NYC volunteers assembled at the Press Enclave and raised slogans in support of their demands. The protesters urged the government to concede their demands including continuation in the government departments where the NYC volunteers are working as a support staff.
The NYC volunteers accused the state government of sitting over their demands and demanded their speedy redressal. The volunteers also said that they are discharging their duties in various departments with honesty sincerity. They wanted to move in the city centre in order to impress upon the government about their demands.
The police personnel present at the Press Enclave stopped the protesters and did not allow them to move further. When some of them offered resistance the police personnel bundled them in vehicles and took them to Kothi Bagh police station.
